Niwaki Ltd. was born from founder Jake’s fascination with Japan’s iconic cherry blossom season. Visiting Japan in 1996 as a young sculptor, Jake was captivated by the country’s gardens and trees, leading him to dive deeper into Japanese horticulture. Returning to England, Jake trained as a TEFL teacher, met Keiko, and returned to Japan, where he spent a year teaching and another year working in a traditional Osaka nursery.
